April 21, 2009Turning an Online Opportunity into a Real-World Client
One of the huge benefits of today’s online world is that we’re able to build friends, fans and CLIENTS in a BIG way. In fact, in exponential proportion to those we ever meet face to face. If you’re a pro at web 2.0 and have filled dozens of webinars to capacity, you probably won’t need this advice, but if you’re fairly NEW, either to business building or to maximizing your online presence, read on!
Exactly how do we establish customer value if we’ve never laid eyes on the individual in question and all the rapport must be built by web or telephone?
First, offer a free gift, such as a whitepaper or ebook, that will establish your expertise, credibility and rapport. If this is offered with no strings attached, contacts will definitely stand up and notice. Next, reach out within 48 hours and ask how it’s going. Do they understand and intend to implement the 4 ways to immediately cut costs that you taught in the whitepaper? Do they have specific questions they’d like to ask about your ebook or need more information on any of the steps? Would they like a free fifteen-minute consultation where you can discuss their needs and how they can best apply your techniques? From there you can offer them an option to invest in cutting those costs with your help. Be sure to have a short list of the added benefits of working with you and your team, as well as references and testimonials.
