One question that came up in last week’s Ask Christine Biz Building Q&A was about maintaining workflow while reducing expenses.  One great solution to this dilemma is using independent contractors.  Remember, as long as you comply with IRS rulings (and have the correct documentation, i.e., written independent-contractor agreements, etc.), you can probably save a bundle of money in salary and benefits and still get TERRIFIC work and savvy results.

Use this sample agreement to help you get started drawing up an independent contractor agreement that clearly spells out the relationship between your business and the contractor.  It won’t be everything you need, but it will give you a good start.
