What are you afraid of? Simple question right? Personally, I think it’s much more informative to ask WHY you’re afraid of something. Are you afraid you won’t be liked?  Why?  Is it because you’re UNLIKEABLE?  Probably not – more likely, it’s just ego, in one direction or another, paralyzing us in a thousand different ways.  So what do you do?  Try this: Stop and look at the emotion BEHIND your fears.

What kind of emotions get in the way of your success? Jealousy’s a big one. I’ve fallen prey to this energy zapper personally and professionally. Jealousy and envy are often about comparing our insides to someone else’s outsides—a symptom of our externally focused world. But how can you really know what it’s like to be someone else anyway? Maybe inside they don’t have such a great life after all. You’ll probably never know, and I’ve been amused to discover how many times I’ve been flat-out wrong about someone else’s situation. The tabloids are all about this: people devour gossip about celebrities and their “ideal” relationships, only to find they’ve been living in misery and are divorcing months after their “happy couple” photos were plastered all over the newsstands. The net-net is that they have their life. Let them. Focus on living your life.

How about another common, emotionally driven fear:  Gluttony.  You know gluttony, it’s the idea of storing up all of your acorns until a famine hits and there are no more.  In the meantime, if you’d been LESS paralyzed and invested some of your acorns in growing your business or personal development, you’d have created a much stronger platform for success – or AT LEAST enjoyed the trip a whole lot more.  So turning that fear into forward motion is a HUGE win.  You see, when you turn the fear / emotion around, it can actually work FOR you and help you to move forward, instead of leaving you paralyzed by the side of the road while others zip by on their way to success.

Okay, how do you activate this in your life?  I’ll give you some more good tools here on my blog all week, but if you’re 100% ready to release fear and MOVE FORWARD, maybe you’re ready to work with me personally.

On September 18-20, I’ll be personally mentoring a very small group of business builders at my weekend long Business Acceleration Intensive Workshop. Only 20 participants will get to work with me personally this weekend, and if you think you’re up to the challenge and ready to make the investment of both the time and the funds to attend ($1,997 early bird special), go to http://www.mightyventures.com/bai/ to save your spot.  Remember, stored acorns are important, but they’re definitely not gonna’ grow any trees.
