I spent a lot of time over the last few months mentoring a corporate client to get out of their own way and STOP making the same mistake over and over. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way. And what’s worse, like my client, they had a way of repeating themselves over and over. Unlike my client, I didn’t start out with a great mentor to help me navigate a path to success. Because until you change your patterns and consciously stop repeating them, mistakes will stop your progress EVERY time.

At the start of my successful journey, I repeatedly hired partners – simply out of fear that I couldn’t build a company alone. I felt I had to have a partner, when I could’ve simply hired staff to fill the gaps in my knowledge or experience. After a while, I learned to overcome this fear by trusting my instincts. The instincts told me I could build and launch the company on my own, or with my staff.
